In recent months I have began working on a series of Youtube videos called “Bad Cop, No Donut.” (You’ll have to forgive the Americanism but ‘Doughnut’ isn’t so aesthetically pleasing). These are instructional videos which document where the police have acted outside of their powers and abused members of the public. In each case, I explain where the police have gone wrong and where it is possible to sue them for compensation.
The first video deals with trespass to goods. A compilation of instances where the police refuse to accept that members of the public have a right to record them.
The second video deals with unlawful stop and search and the police’s continual abuse of anti-terrorism powers, in a bid to punish anyone caught filming on the street who refuses to answer questions.
If you have any videos of your own that you would like me to include, or come across any on Facebook or Youtube that have shown up quite recently, then please contact me here.
In some cases – as with those in the videos above – I might agree to help you, your friends or your relatives, sue the police for damages without having to go to court.
